Named after legendary hero Finn McCool, this Irish Red Ale sports aromas of roasted coffee and nutty caramel underscored by notes of fresh-baked biscuit, heather-sweet malts and a satisfying, sparkling deep-ruby hue. Sláinte!

Nice dark pour from a 2$ can. Creamy off white head fades to pond scum. Malty sweet attractive aroma. Ever so slight bitterness initially, a little phenolic. Flavors of ash backed up by some fruit. Undesired bitterness building in the middle. Could use a few more manners. As frothy said below, some cigar smoke tobacco aftertaste sticking its little head up. Yea, just a little uncivilized. Nowhere near as good as Paladin Irish Red, Brewkeeper's Eireann Dearg or Sullivan's Maltings Irish Ale. More on par with Murphy's Irish Red, Saranac Irish Red and Lexington's Kentucky Ale. Finish is a little uncultured, needs to visit the old country to see how they get it right!.

Very dark brown with a large fluffy tan head that lingered and left good lacing. Bitter and toasty with tobacco and cherry notes. Long finish. Medium body.
