40 Mile is our flagship IPA and is named after the number of miles Jack Jouett raced to warn Thomas Jefferson and his state legislators that Cornwallis had ordered their capture. Jack Jouett’s ride is legendary in Virginia and put Three Notch’d Road on the map as a central story in the fight for our Country’s independence. Jack left his mark on history, how will you leave yours? This West Coast Style IPA is hopped with an abundance of American hop varieties giving it a tropical, peachy, pineapple flavor with big citrus, grapefruit, tangerine notes in the nose and in the finish. The light, crisp malty body allows the complex hop flavors to stand out, and the subtle bitterness makes this IPA a refreshing, easy drinking, delicious beer.

Poured from a can at dominion beer and wine it is a clear golden color with a slight head. The aroma is citrus and the taste is a strong ipa flavor that resolves into a white grapefruit finish

Soapy lemon, dandelion, lilly aroma. Clear amber, medium head, good lacing. Flavor is lillies with a strange sweet dairy-like quality. Grassy finish. Not terribly off-putting, but probably not what the brewers intended.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy amber color with a medium sized creamy white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of herbal and citrus hops with pale caramel malts. The taste is herbal, citrus hops, caramel malts and light toastiness. Medium bodied, well balanced, very drinkable. Nice beer.
