This is our take on a traditional German sour wheat beer, known as a Berliner Weisse. We took this tart, refreshing beer and added local black raspberries. Berliner Wolf is cloudy with a beautiful pink hue and lacy white head. This beer has a wonderful sour nose with a hint of fruit. Berliner Wolf starts off slightly sour leading to a hint of fruit in the middle, finishing smoothly with a traditional German wheat beer end. A must try for sour lovers and people new to the style.

Draft at the VA Craft Brewers Festival, Devils Backbone, 8/24/13. Pours a hazy pink color with a thin frothy head. Fair head retention. Aroma of wheat, berries and a big lactic sourness. The taste is the same with some citrus as well. Medium bodied, refreshing, quite tart. Nice.
