Our lucky 100th batch brewed is an open fermented Dark Farmhouse Ale named after legendary Italian cyclist Fausti Coppi. Dry and lightly roasty with chocolate and earth notes.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a dark brown color, light tan head. Aroma was roasted malts, lots of roasty character. Light chocolates, some moderate resin notes. Didn’t get a whole lot of funk in this one, but it was pretty tasty.

Draft at the source. Deep maroon color, huge beige head, solid lacing. Peppery aroma with dusty cocoa. Taste is nice and roasty, slightly funky, in an interesting combination.

Good, even if there’s some sense of identity crisis here. Light roast and a decent dose of hay. Pours black with decent head and lacing. Floral yeast in scent if not in aroma. Light bitter finish along hay saison lines and some dirt resin. Pretty well done and solidly sessionable. Tap at brewpub.
