Bottle from Za Popen’t Pivoteka, Ljubljana. Pours cloudy black with a lasting, thin, frothy, dark beige head; little lacing. Aroma of mocha, fondant, hazelnut, soy sauce, beef stew, fig, bayleaf, blackcurrcant, chocolate cake. Light malty sweet onset, quite chocolatey with umami notes, 'beefy', soy-like, faint roasted nuts in the back; medium roasted bitter middle, hints of mocha, sourish raisin & fig, slight powdery effect. Dryish, toasty, herbal hoppy finish, lingering chocolate & coffee roast, remaining subtle, warming liqueur alcohol. Full body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Well-made, balanced, pleasant surprise!

BOTTLE 33 CL from mcberko - thank, Matt!. Dark chocolate and coffee - not too much, but it's there, along with some black sugars. Notes of leather, tobacco, some alcohol - not too harsh, but it has a hint of nail polish in there. The taste follows, with vague thinnish chocolate and molasses, has a harsh abrasive feel and alcohols, resembling average homebrew impies, moderate herbal and piney bitterness. Drinkable, but far from the best in class.

330mL bottle, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma is rich, with medium roasted malt, licorice and a bit of earthy espresso. Flavour is quite roasted and bitter, with medium roasted malt, bitter espresso and a hint of caramel. Nicely constructed, with a bit of a sharp bitterness. By the books, lacking a bit of complexity, but it's competently done.

330ml bottle bought in Ljubljana, shows 10.5% abv on the label. Pours jet black with almost no head. Strong aroma of roasted coffee, chocolate syrup, baker's chocolate. Flavour is a comfortable mix of dark roasted espresso and 70% Lindt dark chocolate. Could use more body, a little thin on the mouth. Not a bad one of this style but there are much better ones out there.

Bottle, 0.33l. 10.5% ABV. Pitch black pour, no head, zero lacing. Heavily malty nose, strong coffee notes. Herbal background, some hops. Roasty. Medium body, medium carbonation. Mouthfeel feels a bit too light for an Imperial Stout. Roasty bittersweet taste with some subtle salty notes in the background. Drying and peppery mouthfeel. Caramel and roasted malts in the aroma, coffee. Some liquory notes in the background but overall alcohol is quite well hidden in the taste. Nicely warming, though. Finishes dry and bitter with some hop notes. Overall, decent Imperial Stout. Not a world beater but still quite nice.

0,33 l bottle. Pours almost pitch black with small brown quickly dissipating head. Aroma is mainly malty, chocolate, coffee, toffee, roast, light alcohol. Taste is medium to heavy sweet, medium to heavy bitter. Body is full, texture oily, carbonation soft. Finish is long, quite unpleasant astringent roast bitterness. Beer is more or less like I remember it from the first time Batch #50 was brewed, maybe aroma of chocolate and coffee was bigger, but I don't remember finish being so unpleasant. Heavy bitter yes, but not astringent like this bottle is. Edit: I found 2 bottles stored away (from yours truly), best by date 9.1.2017, as far as I can tell from first batch (series 01-015). It is simply brilliant! All the tastes I wrote about initially, coffee, chocolate and toasted malt in particular are present and well articulated. It is oily, but not heavy as you drink it, fusel alcohol is present, but not annoying. Head is huge, it takes some time for the liquid to settle down, but at the same time it is not over carbonated. No off tastes, no astringent finish I wrote about in original post. Can't wait to taste the second bottle in a couple of years.
