On tap at their East Van taproom. Pours gold with a slight haze and a white head. Banana, cloves, and bubblegum on the nose. Flavour has tons of sweet esters, bubblegum and banana with a bit of cloves. Slightly boozy on the finish, like fermented wheat runoff. A bit off-kilter and hard to get behind.

1L bottle from the LCBO. hazy copper pour, billowy, rocky white head. aroma is all cloves, and bananas, with quite a bit of yeast, and malted wheat. not surprising really, but everything seems to be much bolder than i would have expected. the flavor is all cloves, and wheat, with whisps of banana and bubblegum. the finish is light on the bitterness with a thick malted wheat after taste.

473ml can. Pours a hazy gold-orange with a medium, foamy, short lived, white head that laces. Sweet aroma of bready wheat malt, overripe banana, yeast, orange peel, clove and floral hops. Sweet flavour of bready wheat malt, caramel, orange peel, vanilla, bubble gum, overripe banana, yeast, clove and floral hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Tasty and enjoyable. ABV is well hidden, making this surprisingly easy to drink.

Owl Farm, Brooklyn tap: Pours cloudy orange with a white head. Aroma is spicy, with light banana notes (I was expecting much more), some spiciness, light hoppiness, and bubblegum. Taste, at first, seemed to me like that of a Belgian ale. Only after a few sips did I really get the sense of what the brewers were going for in the beer. In any case, it wasn’t bad.

Refrigerated 1 L brown bottle with fliptop poured into weizen glass. Pours cloudy light orange with large deep golden highlights and medium off-white head. Aroma is bready, medium body, medium carbonation, and some lacing. Taste is estery, bready, some clove, some bubblegum, and hints of alcohol. Good weizenbock, but not my favorite and at $15 for a 1L bottle I won’t be seeking this out.
