Double Barrel Aged Imperial Stout Blend.
Has it really been eight years? As of writing this we have filled 472 barrels with (mostly) stouts since those early days, and when our birthday comes around we like to dig deep and show off the best of them. This year, after several extended blending sessions, we arrived at this double-barrel aged blend which we believe stands tall without the need for any adjuncts or additions.
This blend pulls from four stouts aged 21–28 months in Thomas H. Handy 15yr Rye, Stagg Jr 8yr, and two Weller 12yr barrels, then transferred into Rare Breed 14yr, French Cognac 6yr, Blanton’s 6yr, and Weller 7yr barrels for an additional 14–24 months.
With 8 total barrels — including wheated bourbons, rye, cognac, and a wide range of age statements — this beer layers spirit character, oak, and malt depth into something rich, intense, and harmonious. Built from three stout brews, it’s greater than the sum of its parts and everything we strive for in a decadent, spirit-forward beer.
Cheers to 8 years — and many more.
