Reviewed from notes.
Can to chalice.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a finger and a quarter's worth of khaki foamy head which took it's time to dissipate and once it did some light lace formed
Aroma: soft toasted nuttiness, some Belgian chocolate, dark fruits, dark chocolate, light notes of Belgian spices, some vanilla
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a semi-sweet yet rounded spicy almost yeasty vibe; sly finish of the Belgian spices, vanilla and Belgian chocolate
Texture: light to medium bodied, leaning into being a sipper; some smoothness and a light note of the "Belgian-back-of-the-throat" dry/grabby vibe (wow, that's surprising to me from an American brewer!)
Overall: yes, we do have a Belgian styled stout from an American brewer - well how about that!
