Appearance: dark brown close to black in the glass with a thin rim of eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely but barely left any lace
Aroma: dark chocolate bitterness, slight coffee roastiness and some piney hops
Flavor: seems to mesh the prior noted aromas to a medley of sweet to roasty to piney hop bitter; finishes the same way
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable; some smoothness to this and a touch of some bitterness nicking the tongue a bit
Overall: if I didn't know any better, this seemed like a scaled down version of a "black IPA" but hey, who's arguing this was well brewed.
