While Gold Leaf is on the lighter side, it takes five weeks to perfect this traditional German-style lager. An homage to the days when beers were made 100% from malted barley, Gold Leaf is brewed with four European malts tempered with a touch of three imported hops. Plus, it’s got subtle bready notes. And since it’s not super hoppy or dark, this beer doesn’t hide any flavor inconsistencies. That just keeps us honest.
Malts: Pilsner, Weyermann Pilsner, Vienna, Acidulated Malt
Hops: Northern Brewer, Saaz, Tettnang

Can: Clear, pale gold, thin white head. Grain, honey scent. Taste is sweet...grain malt, lager yeast. Simple and light, but fairly satisfying.

Draft. Corn, barley malt, and straw aroma. Yellow with moderate head. Moderately sweet corn, barley malt, and very lightly bitter hay flavor. Good body. Okay.

Draft at The Flying Saucer, Nashville. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma and taste is grain, apple, and lager-like. May need to re-rate due to tap line issues.

Can from a mixed 12 pk in the local Kroger that had both cans and bottles. Clear gold with a minimal white head. Aroma of light grain. No hop aroma. The flavor is lightly sweet, some light bitterness in the finish. Decent but not a very good Dortmunder.
