English Style Brown Ale with a sweet woody maple flavor that combines with subtle nuttiness and dark chocolate notes to provide balance for the earthiness provided by old world varietals of hops. Brewed with Maple Syrup.

On tap at 14th Star on 02/09/2019.
In some kind of glass they made up.
Appearance: dark brown color with a finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: woody sweet nuts with some maple sweetness and caramel/toffee malts; earthy hop tones further down in there
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet nutty to sweet malty conglomeration; finishes with an earthy nutty to slight maple-y tone
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; good smoothness with a little bit of earthy grit seemingly wanting to nick the tongue ever so slightly but honestly, it's pretty faint and non-offensive
Overall: mostly a pretty good English brown ale with some maple in it. 14th Star is not ashamed of putting maple in a lot of their beers and I don't see anything wrong with that as long as they do it right and don't get excessive and make it cloying.
