Sampled from a 750 ml corked brown bottle this beer poured thick, black and a bit oily with an enormous foamy brown head that lingered forever and left great lacing. The aroma was chocolate, marzipan, bread dough, fruity hops and licorice. The flavor was bitter with strong fruity and floral hops, anise, cherry and cocoa. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Solid.

Some roast malt and chocolate. Palate is a little thin for style, but ok. Finishes with mild bitterness. Soft carbonation. Tap at Churchkey.
