Saison blended for Shebrew

Mourning Air is a wheat-based, oak-aged mixed fermentation saison hopped with Rakau. Bright notes of ripe apricot, supported by soft acidity and light oak character. Effervescent and gently tart, it finishes dry with lingering hints of apricot and orchard fruit.

Brewer Meghan blended this special for SheBrew, a festival supporting women in the beer industry. SheBrew is held each year in Portland and kicks off Women’s History Month. It’s a vibrant celebration of women in the draft beer, cider industry and is a grassroots volunteer-driven platform. SheBrew is not only a celebration, it is an event honoring equality and supports all women and the LGBTQ community.

On tap at Holy Mountain - Phinney, pours a clear orange with a small white head. Aroma has a very complex wild bugginess, plenty of oak, some stone fruit, and light acidity. Flavour is much the same, with plenty of wild yeast, oak, apricot, and moderate acidity. Not the most cohesive or elegant construction compared to HM’s standard for wild saisons, but this is very nice.
