This big Double IPA was brewed to celebrate our five year anniversary. It was brewed with our standard blend of wheat and oats malts for a fluffy, smooth and soft mouthfeel. Hopped rather aggressively with a blend of three New Zealand hops including Rakau, Motueka, and Motuere. Then fermented with a traditional yeast in order to allow the hops to shine. We get massive notes of lime zest, tropical fruit baskets, fruit stripe gum and a touch of resinous pine. Here's to five more years! Cheers!

Appearance: dark burnt oranage haziness with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: pineapple/papaya/grapefruity/mango hop tones with some lemony sweet hop notes and a light mixed citrusy zest underneath; light clean malts
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to bittersweet and slightly juicy sort of quality; finishes juicy with a light mixed citrusy zest
Texture: medium bodied; somewhat sessionable; good smoothness with nothing distracting, good low carb and low hop bitterness
Overall: I wish I could come back to this but I get it and realize the next time they brew an anniversary beer I'll be sure to try it.
