A true beer-wine hybrid, produced by blending a barrel of Matt Gregory's Red Field Blend 2022 with 18 month old Balance barrels. aged together in tank and bottle for a further year.
Tannic and effervescent with cranberry, cherry and funky leathery notes on the nose. There's spicy wood and cinnamon melding with blackberry, blackcurrant and thyme leading on the palate. On the finish there's white pepper and subtle warming spice, all wrapped up in sweet woodsmoke.

Keg at Craft Beer Co Covent Garden. Opaque Ribena red. Thin foamy white head primarily sticks to the rim. Aroma is fruity - red grapes. Ever so slightly sour edge. All rather smooth. Flavourwise it's got a sour bitter streak over red wine fruit and a touch of earthiness. Light-medium medium bodied. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. I used the word smooth earlier and I will use it again. Slips down. The styles don't clash; the blending works.
