Can to weizen glass.
Appearance: dark amber to brown color with a three and a half fingers of eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: soft sweet chocolate tones with some banana esters and clove spices; sweet wheaty tones and a light caramel sweetness in there too
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet quality underscored by the clove spice quaintly; finishes semi-chocolatey, caramel-like and a bit of the banana estery tones
Texture: full bodied, slightly sessionable; some smoothness but also has a slight "wheaty bite" to it but seems very Americanized and faint
Overall: for the most part, it's a pretty good attempt at a Dunkelweizen and I applaud the effort from an American brewer to try and brew this style.
