Can to tulip.
Appearance: dark amber to mahogany color with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: earthy to piney hops with a huge caramel/toffee malt backbone but seemed pretty muted all around
Flavor: tried to mesh the prior noted aromas to some sort of quality but seems to just come across pretty bitter and flabby; finishes pretty dry and bitter
Texture: light to medium bodied; can't really tell if this is a sipper or sessionable; not very smooth at all - gets pretty astringent to the tongue; the carb seems fine
Overall: I can see why they retired this and I hope they don't bring it out of retirement, I guess it lives up to it's name, though (wink wink).
