During the 1800s, this full bodied ale accounted for 80% of the beer sold in England and was the beer of the working class. American craft brewers have brought back this style from the brink of extinction. Our most decorated beer and now the most decorated brown porter in the history of the Great American Beer Festival!

Draft. Deep brown body with a frothy, beige head. Pleasant aroma of roasted malts, caramel and floral hops. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, smooth turning watery texture and a lively carbonation. Slight metallic taste from the roast, but a pleasant roasted coffee bitterness in the aftertaste along with some lingering caramel notes. Smooth and easy drinking.

Pours a clear dark brown with an average tan head. Chocolate/coffee roast malt aroma, that is copied in the flavor. Smooth with a dry finish. Very nice.

From a sampler: Pours a dark brown with a thin light beige head and thin lacing. Aroma is mostly nutty with some coffee as well. Medium bodied with flavors of coffee, roasted malt and some hops. The finish is nutty and hoppy. Decent representation of the style.
