Medici is an amalgamation of an India Pale Ale and an American Brown Ale. Nutty, toffee malt flavours and a caramel sweetness are balanced by a robust bitterness provided by Australian Galaxy and British Challenger hops. These provide a spicy, cedar aroma with a gentle citrus note. It has a finish of raisins, hints of liquorice and a dry herbal woody bitterness.

Bottle. Wine Rack, Sheffield. Light haze on a brownish, ruby red. Fine and super sticky, lasting, beige head. Nose has a decent marmalade on well done toast vibe. Some pine sap. Light roast malt. Taste is pretty sweet, with a marmalade bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Lingering piny bitterness to finish. Nice one. Lovely condition.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy ruby/brown body with lots of flecks beneath a thin beige head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of tea and sticky toffee pudding. Flavour of caramel and berries. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Thornbridge are releasing classy new beers just now. This is one of them.

Hazy reddish brown beer, thin off-white head. Richy toasty malt, toffee and a bit of hop in the smell. Flavour has caramel, toasty malt, a little toffee, some grassy hop. I quite like this and the balance of it though I'm surprised it doesn't have a little more body for the strength.

Brown with an off white head - Aroma of dark malts and there is a good hop aroma as well - Good malt body to support the hops that has a fruity bitterness to it - The hops goes into the finish with some bitterness - This was quite good
