Can to becher glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a two finger eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: dark chocolate, black coffee, cocoa nibs and some caramel/toffee malts
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a bitter and roasty quality initially but a little bit of sweet comes in underneath for balance; finishes about the same with a touch of dryness
Texture: light to medium bodied; sessionable; some smoothness but also a substantial roasty to bitter assertiveness to the tongue - it wasn't too bothersome to me but I do know some of my friends did not like that level of roasty and bitterness assertiveness
Overall: to me, not a bad porter, I would've come back to this if they kept it going.
