Sampled from a 16 oz can this beer poured a nut brown color with orange highlights and a large foamy tan head that towered over the glass and left exceptional lacing. The aroma was peppery and spicy but vague with a cedar note. The flavor was tart pepper, tequila and strong cedar. Long finish and the cedar quickly becomes overwhelming. Medium body. Not good.

Bottle: (aluminum) Dark, cloudy brown with a large, whipped, tan head.\Toffee malt, cedar aroma. Taste is sweet, slightly spicy toffee malt.....and a lot of sweet cedar... Enjoyable richness as it warms.....alongside an interesting woody texture...tasty.

Aluminum bottle courtesy of Weihenweizen. Strong cedar and light toffee malt aroma. Dark amber with huge light tan head. Extremely strong cedar flavor with toffee malt and hay taking back seat. Cedar pretty much overwhelms everything else.

Refrigerated 16 oz. aluminum bottle, bottled on June 5, 2014, poured into an English pint glass. Pours dark brown with crimson hues and two finger off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt, medium body, medium carbonation, and some medium bubble lacing. Taste is caramel malt, some herbal hops, some wood, and hints of smoke. The hop profile is a little light and the color is bit dark to be considered an English Pale Ale, may be more like just a regular English ale.
