Demanding beer for demanding beer drinkers -- that's our Pale Ale.

We craft this American pale ale with hearty amounts of pale and Munich malts, then balance it with lofty amounts of hops throughout. It's a finessed version of hop-head fun -- a black diamond beer without the bumps and dangerous curves.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Cleargolden, minimal head. Lemony nose. Sweetish with clean, hard mouthfeel. Lemony hops lead up to slight resiny finish. A pale ale on the simple side.

Shaker pint pour at the brewpub in Breckenridge. Pour is cloudy hazy orange amber with a small white head. Very fine carbonation streaking to the top. Fair amount of lacing. Nice looking. Aroma of floral hops, slight resin, biscuit toasty malt behind that. Nice, but a little too faint. Taste is the floral hops initially, some dirty resin bitterness near the back, also the biscuit malt holding it together. Orange citrus mild sweetness comes out as it warms. Nice balance. Palate is medium, low carbonation, prickly bitterness. This was nicely drinkable.

12oz bottle. Filtered golden-orange color, small fluffy head. Mildly sweet hop aroma. Middle of the road hoppiness with a sweet malt backbone. Has some decent tastes up front, but finishes quite watery. Hyper-sessionable, but lacks much complexity. Not bad, but not so memorable either.

A golden ale with ahtin lacing white head. A light malty aroma with restrained hops. In mouth, a nice crisp ale with nice light c-hops. A good starter for the sampler rack! Medium bodied. On tap at Ballpark brewpub 24 Jan. 2009.

12 oz. bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville, VA. Golden orange pour. A vigorous pour produced a 4-finger head. Average retention and not much lacing. Nice citrus hop aroma. Pine and citrus hop taste with a creamy and slightly sweet background. Nicely balanced. Surprising it’s rated so low.
