Sample at the brewpub. Dark brown color with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly to a film. Small patches of lace. Roast malt, coffee and chocolate aroma. Light to medium body with flavors of roasted malt, cocoa and coffee. The finish is roasty with a malt and coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 6/20/11

Aroma: The nose is roasty, some chocolate, and a little bit of burnt malts
Appearance: It pours dark brown with a small light brown head and no lace
Flavor: The taste is roasty and burnt, like the nose, with a chocolatey sweetness
Palate: The body is a touch on the watery side, smooth, and fairly creamy, with a rounded mouthfeel
Overall Impression: To prove that whole top rater of Little Rock thing was just a joke, if I was really trying to be the top rater of Little Rock, I would have tried all 3 of the beers they had, but I just tried the 2 on this trip (this one and the IPA). This one was a decent stout, but it was fairly one dimensional. Still though, it had some nice flavors.
