The barrels used for this beer have been on quite the road trip.
Starting out at High West Distillery in Park City, Utah aging their bourbon. The barrels then hopped 2100 miles over to the Durham Distillery in Durham, North Carolina to age their Conniption Gin.
The Gin went on to win a gold metal in the 2024 World Gin Awards!
The barrels finally ventured 331 miles down to Akademia Brewing Co in Athens, Georgia to age our Belgian Dark Strong ale for 8 months.
The resulting beer is a beautiful blend of bourbon, gin botanicals and Belgian character.
