6.3/10 Appearance 7 Aroma 6 Flavor 6 Texture 7 Overall 6
Poured from a can into a nonic pint

Pours a mostly clear copper color with two fingers of off white to very light tan head. Head settles rather rapidly leaving a little lace.

Aroma is caramel/toffee malt and a slight green apple aroma.

Taste is similar to the aroma, light caramel to toffee malts, kind of minerally bordering on metallic. Light green apple twang

Mouth feel is medium body with medium light carbonation, fairly smooth easy drinking, finishing with a light malt sweetness

Overall it is rather bland and the green apple notes come as an off flavor. It's not terrible but I'd reach for something else in the future.

Can to English pint glass.
Appearance: dark copper/auburn color with a slight transparency about it and a half a finger's worth of white foamy head which didn't seem to hang around very long before it dissipated then left some some super light messy lace
Aroma: some caramel/toffee tones with a lighter note of diacetyl and some earthy notes
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas to a fairly sweet sort of quality; finishes malty with a brisk dryness to it
Texture: light to medium bodied; sessionable; some smoothness to it; the carb level seemed fine and no hop bitterness assertiveness just some acceptable dryness
Overall: luckily, the diacetyl in the aroma wasn't overbearing for me as I was able to finish this beer; however, I do believe there would be other amber/red ales I would reach for first before this one again.
