Bottle. For what it is, it’s really not bad. Actually for a cheap beer it’s rather tasty. Dark, clear copper color. Rather small head. Aroma is grains and bread. Taste is grains, bland up front but a sweet finish.

Big fucken can, thanks to Iowa for selling for basically free. Pours a clear burnt golden appearance with a big cream colored head. Sweet corn, fake caramel, vanilla, and light apple in the aroma. Medium light body. Some residual sweetness. Dull grass and corn flavor. I suppose it’s inoffensive but not something I’d want to drink on a regular occasion.

25 ounce can from a random gas station, 7/30/14. Pours a clear dark copper color with a large fizzy tan head. Poor head retention. Aroma of caramel, tinny hops and apple. The taste is caramel malt, sweaty socks and a hint of hops. Thin bodied. Meh.

So I stop in the gas station cuz I wanted a dark lager to parboil some brats. All I had at home was IPA abd I wanted to save that for drinking. Saw the big can of this and noticed it was new. Wasnt sure how dark and caramel it would be so I got a can of brown ale to mix with. Of course i poured a sample for rating before cooking. Not great but quite a surprise and decent enough beer for the price. Copper color sure enough, no melanoidin components to speak of, but bready and even an actual suggestion of hop. Not watery but still leaning toward bland on the whole, at first seemed clean but then i noticed the typical a-b acetaldehyde yeast profile, i really dont know why they dont clean that up.

24oz can on clearance for 99c. Pours a dark copper with a half finger of white head. Aroma of caramel, grains and something metallic. Taste is light bitter. Mostly grains. Not getting much of the caramel from the aroma. A bit skunky. Light bodied with a thin watery texture. Fizzy carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, meh. At least the color looks good.

Bottle. Light caramel malt aroma. Copper with large light tan head. Lightly sweet caramel malt and hay flavor. Okay - definitely better than the average AB product.

Bought a 25oz can to drink tonight in honor of my father, a Busch drinker who passed away this morning. It is surprisingly not bad. More flavorful than the Busch flagship, smooth on the palate. A bit of corn on the finish. Ugly brown-amber. A good value.
