Sample at Rogue Ales Distillery & Public House. Clear apple juice color with a minimal head and nil legs. Aroma is a little soapy with some spice behind it. Light-bodied and effervescent with flavors of sweet spices and lightly tart fruit. The finish is short and fruity. Not a winner overall.

Bottle sample at Beoir Go Leoir. Intensely floral jasmine, honey, and white grape aroma. Slight hazy pink-green tinged straw color. Lightly sweet honey and intensely floral jasmine flavor - just like my favorite Dragon Pearl jasmine tea. I especially appreciate that the honey sweetness was subdued, allowing the jasmine tea flavor to shine through. Light side of medium body, soft - almost flat carbonation. I’m aware that I’ve given what seems like an over the top rating by comparison to all others. I’m a huge jasmine tea lover, as well as strong floral flavors, and that’s what this mead delivered. I’m not surprised that this isn’t highly rated, because I’ve noticed most beer drinkers aren’t all that fond of big flowery flavors.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Tom. Transparent, slightly yellowish, water color. Aroma of honey, alcohol and spices, a bit vinous. Flavor of cheap semi-dry sparkling wine with some honey and a slightly spicy finish. Light-bodied with strong carbonation. Really not my thing.

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours like a cider - lightly gold and a very transient white head. Aroma is sort of honey flower. Light body. Flavor is fairly thin - not your typical syrupy mead. It’s mildly honey with touches of jasmin. For me it’s not sweet - bitter in a way rather different from most beers. Maybe it’s the tea. Quite different.

Draught at REAL A Gastropub, Honolulu, HI
as Chatoe Rogue 19 Colonies Mead With Jasmine
Blond color with compact and persistent head. Some aroma of honey. Light mouthfeel, dry, with some ordinary honey flavor, and a mild flowery touch from the jasmine; it also has a moderate bitterness.
As pleasant as a wheat beer, in other words not interesting as mead.

A lightly hazed yellow with a thin dissipating white head. In aroma, loads of clover honey, orange peels, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice mead with sweet fruity honey, dry and bubbly, a bit of wax. On tap at Barcade NJ, Dec. 31 2012.

Location: Draft @ Growlers Pour House, 12/9/12
Aroma: The nose is basically dymetap, with a little honey maybe, but really just dymetap
Appearance: This beer pours a clear gold color, with absolutely no head or lace
Flavor: The taste is pretty sweet, and that's it other then the too much dymetap (he wrote again)
Palate: The body is light, has a juice-like in consistancy, feels a touch sticky, with a soft carbonation
Overall Impression: Wow. Don't buy this. It is not good. I wish I'd been warned! I didn't even hate dymetap as a kid, and I like fake grape flavor, but this is just terrible.
