12 oz. bottle. Cloudy gold, small white head. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruit. Taste is malty, with citrus and tropical fruit notes. Decent.

Draft at Tanglewood. Hazy golden color, thick tan head with good retention and solid lacing. Nice aroma of pineapple and mango. Taste is bitter tropical fruit. Tasty.

On tap at Tapwerks. Pours a clear amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has notes of grapefruit with a bit of sweet citrus and an earthy grain backing. Flavor has more of a sweet citrus and light grain with a bit of grapefruit backing.

Pours a darkened orange color, glowy at the edges. Quite hazy. Small white-ish head. Not much lacing. The aroma is a bit weaker than I’d like. It’s pretty much just citrus/pine hops with some biscuity malt. Grapefruit rind, pine needles, a little grass. The taste is pretty dry. There’s some toasty malt character, but it’s mostly marked a somewhat bland hop bitterness. That’s not to say it’s a bad beer. It’s just well-worn territory and not exciting. Mouthfeel is clean and crisp. Normal carbonation. There’s some body to the beer. I quite liked McNellie’s Pub Ale, so this beer is a bit disappointing. Still, it’s easy to drink and refreshing.

Bottle: Muddy caramel color with a finger of creamy khaki colored head. Nose is citrus and caramel, but a little stale. Drinks a little stale too. Citrus and florals seem faded and lightly bready malt. Me thinks this bottle be a bit past it’s prime...
