Cider House Collection #2: Inspired by the tradition of Ice Ciders in Quebec, Canada, Iceman uses the process of freezing the juice from culinary and bittersweet apples to produce a rich, complex and unique cider with a crisp apple taste and notes of caramel and toffee. This cider is sweet but not cloying. The addition of oak-aging yields a smooth and pleasing vanilla character. The result is a perfectly balanced, full-flavored cider that delights the palate with clean apple notes and a lingering toffee finish.

Corked bottle from Safeway, Port Angeles, WA
Golden color, clean, with some bubbles, head disappears quickly. Nice aroma of apples, mature, not as rich as real Ice Ciders, but very nice. Moderately sweet, the carbonation and light acidity add a dynamic touch, the apple flavor is present.
Standardized robust cider, not a real Ice Cider, but still quite nice.

Bottle - Lots of sweet apple and peel. Clear gold. Sweet apple and a long finish. Overly simple and sweet. More like a sweet cider.

Pours a clear gold from a bottle, aroma of sweet apples, flavor of sweet/tart apples, looks like apple juice with a slight white head. Good cider.

This Cider is a clear copper-gold color with a thin white head that evaporates steadily. Short strings of lace. Fresh apples, vanilla and malt in the nose. Full-bodied with semi-tart apples, caramel malt and oaky vanilla flavors. The finish is sweet with a vanilla apple aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bomber at home split with myself over god willing at least two evenings. Pours orange golden with small cidery head. Nose of candied apples. Tastes of granny smith apples, rich caramelized sugars, vanilla, plenty of booze. Not sickly sweet or particularly nuanced in flavors but not unpleasant.

Thick viscous deep golden color. Aromas of brown sugar and pomme fruits with hints of vanilla, spice and faint wood. Sweet apple vanilla brown sugar and oak flavors. A little sweet for my tastes, but a nice sipper.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a bubbly white head that starts at the edges and dissipates completely. Aroma has lots of sweet apple with a touch of vanilla and some underlying oakiness. Flavor is similarly sweet with lots of sweet apple and touches of vanilla and oak.

750mL bottle, pours a pretty clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of apples, caramelized sugar, and light toffee. Flavour isn't reminiscent of an ice cider, just a regular cider, with notes of apples, toffee and brown sugar. Nowhere near the complexity of a true ice cider. Certainly nice for a cider, but not up to par for an ice cider. Good stuff.

This was poured into a pint glass and a wine glass.
The appearance was the same in both: cloudy copper color with a slight transparency about it. Bubbly carbonation is seen rising.
The smell has a deep sweet apple aroma pacing abroad a delicate caramel sweetness coming in and out.
The taste was sweet through a combination of apples and caramel.
On the palate, this one happens to sit at a medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. The caramel that is in this helps to smooth things out to make this a decent offering all around.
Overall, definitely one of the better ciders by Angry Orchard, but still the price doesn’t really fit my budget. I probably wouldn’t seek again.
