Abita Grapefruit Harvest is a brilliant golden IPA with a subtle zest of grapefruit flavor and aroma that enhances the strong hop character. This bright, snappy brew is made with real Louisiana Ruby-Red grapefruits, pale, pilsner and caramel malts and cascade hops.
The strong hop profile and subtle zest of grapefruit make it a good choice with grilled chicken. This brew would also pair well with ceviche or raw Louisiana oysters.

No denying the "grapefruit" in Grapefruit Harvest IPA. Little much for my taste - but I could see this being popular with some.

A grapefruit harvest IPA. Nice idea. The 12oz bottle pours with a deep gold body that has copper hues and supports a brief weak off white head. The aroma comes across sweet with sugary malts, citrus flavored gummy bear candy and then a mild grapefruit note is noticed. Alright, not the best start to this. The taste begins with a flash of malty sugary sweetness and then the malts introduce a malt sweetened grapefruit juice fruitiness that rides into mild levels of tangerine like citrus hops. It gets into sweet citrus hard candy midway and into the finish. Nice fruitiness here but nearly zero hop bitterness and mild fruit tartness. Nice easy drinking beer provided the sweetness doesn’t get to ya.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a hazy caramel-amber color with a medium sized foamy white head that faded quickly an left decent lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet grapefruit juice and artificial sugar. The flavor was artificial sugar with sour and tart pink grapefruit. Long finish. Medium body. Ok.

Well it was an interesting idea, and it made for a nice nose, redolent of grapefruit of course, hard to say how much from actual grapefruit and how much from hops, but I’m leaning toward the fruit, but the hops in the flavor were not much pronounced, balanced finish, overall just meh for an IPA, with hints of flowers and grapefruit of course. Easy drinker though.

Sample at Daily Growler. Clear golden color with a medium off-white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Citrus, hops and malt in the nose. Light to medium body with a mildly bitter grapefruity hops character with toasted malt behind it. The finish is lightly hoppy with a citrus aftertaste. Decent overall.

Pour is a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is definitely grapefruit with a decent malty backbone. Flavor is again grapefruit with some citrus bitterness. Most IPA’s taste like grapefruit to me any way so I don’t know if the flavor is from the juice or hops. I’m thinking more from the juice. Decent and does not taste artificial.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with medium frothy white head. The aroma is a strong grapefruit and pine. Thin mouthfeel with light bitter grapefruit and light hop. Decent
