Abita Grapefruit Harvest is a brilliant golden IPA with a subtle zest of grapefruit flavor and aroma that enhances the strong hop character. This bright, snappy brew is made with real Louisiana Ruby-Red grapefruits, pale, pilsner and caramel malts and cascade hops.
The strong hop profile and subtle zest of grapefruit make it a good choice with grilled chicken. This brew would also pair well with ceviche or raw Louisiana oysters.

Bottle. Most IPAs have a grapefruit taste to them to me anyway so this seems like a natural combination. I don’t really like a lot of beers from Abita but this has to be one of their better ones. Actually pretty goo. Golden color, medium head, a little bit of lace. Aroma is, yes, grapefruit but not overpowering. Taste is a grapefruit IPA.

Draft at Beer Authority. Murky yellowish color. Grapefruit pith dominates here. Basically just grapefruit pith and some hops. Not particularly bitter, just very grapefruit heavy in general. Not bad, but pretty one dimensional.

Grapefruit and tangerine nose more of the latter actually. Juicy! Hazy amber, medium head. Grapefruit and lilly initially. A surge of lillies and honeysuckle at midpalate. Honeysuckle finish. Medium body, easy carbonation. It’s becoming cliche in my Abita ratings, but this brewery has been killing it lately.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Boulder Liquor Mart. Pours a pretty clear, golden yellow appearance with a foamy off white head. Sure enough, there is quite a bit of grapefruit juice in the nose. There’s a lot of bland, bitter herbal hops. Spritzy like a soda. Kind of a like a Steigler Grapefruit Radler. Pretty juice. Not super hard to drink. Not my favorite. Ok.

Bottle: Pours hazy yellow0gold with a tight, off-ehite head. Sweet, sugared, pink grapefruit aroma... Flavour is the same pink grapefruit.....tangerine/orange malt.... Tingly, citric acidity...very slight peel-bittering. Really bright and enjoyable.... This one strikes me as a beer that would really hit the spot on a slightly rough morning-after.
