Kentucky Peach Barrel Wheat Ale is a light, crisp ale perfect for lazy, sun-drenched summer days.

Images of your real (or fanciful) old Kentucky home in bourbon country are conjured up with every sip, thanks to the brew’s six-week aging period in fresh Kentucky bourbon barrels. Our barrel-aging process balances hints of caramel and vanilla and subtle cereal notes with the juiciness of a fresh ripe peach, creating a golden color. Enjoy this light-bodied, refreshing offering before the bright rays of summer fade into fall.

BARREL AGED SEASONAL SERIES — Nestled in the heart of bourbon country where bourbon barrels outnumber people, Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company produces a Barrel-Aged Seasonal Series that capitalizes on its close proximity to the region and the changing taste preferences of the seasons. All of these beers are produced in Kentucky, aged in freshly decanted Kentucky bourbon barrels, 100% barrel aged, and produced in bourbon barrels only used once.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run, opened 7/1/14. Pours a clear amber color with a thin fizzy white head that fades quickly. Aroma of candied peaches and wheat. The taste is peaches, wood, wheat, mild hops and bourbon. Thin bodied, harsh, not well balanced. Not a good beer.

Draft: Light peavh nose. Clear bubbly golden, no head. Peach flavor, subtle doughy finish. Little body, spritzy, hot with no bourbon character. Surprisingly weak and thin. Disheartening.

bottle - Pours clear gold and smells of, wait for it..... peach and bourbon. It’s actually a really nice aroma. The flavor is sweet with peach up front and bourbon becoming more dominate as it warms. It’s medium bodied and finishes with notes of vanilla. Really good.

Bottle. Peach, buttery caramel malt, and light bourbon aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Buttery peach malt flavor. Okay but seems to have some diacetyl issues.

Bottle. Big huge peach aroma - not much else. Clear pale gold with a small white head. Dry peach, light oak, and alcohol flavor. Body on the light side of medium, soft carbonation. This one didn’t work for me.... just a boozy peach bomb that didn’t really taste good to me.
