12 Years of Dageraad deserves a mighty special beer to commemorate the occasion. For this bière de coupage, we blended a number of barrel-aged and fresh beers that reach back to span the different eras of the brewery's history.
With nods to our favourite saisons, collabs, and experiments, Dageraad 12 pours a light straw hue, expressing tart and tangy notes. Apple, quince, and crabapple juice make for an abundance of orchard-fresh fruit notes, while a slight touch of tannins gives the beer a clean, dry finish. It’s a refreshing, nuanced beer and a pleasant companion for the warming days ahead.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy yellow with a small, quickly-dissipating white head. Aroma has a nice barnyard character, nice leathery character, rustic farmhouse notes, and some lemon skins. Flavour is fairly lemony upfront, with plenty of hay, rustic farmhouse notes, and some muddled mustiness. Pretty nice yeast expression, but doesn’t have the vibrance or complexity I hoped for. Good but not great.

On tap at Dageraad. Pours murky blonde with a white head. Has a rustic, herbal yeast expression on the nose, some citrus and grainy malts. Flavour has orange peels, a rustic saison yeast, some botanicals. Nice, I like this, good complexity.

100ml.
Aroma: a lot of botanicals for some reason, farmhouse notes.
Taste: along the same lines, some bitterness, a bit kinda rusty.
Overall: really disappointed by this one compared to the anniversary beers from prior years. Good that they released Sprung in small cans. Happy that's around, otherwise I would completely upset.
