In the knick of time for patio season, our brewers have just dropped a single-hopped pale ale in celebration of the 'Zumo' hop varietal.
This relatively new, relatively low-acreage hop was hard to get our hands on! Zumo shines through this single-hop pale ale with bright lime zest on the nose, along with a bouquet of sweet aromas and flavours of slab cake, pomme fruit, and vanilla. The sweetness is rounded out with a snappy, Driftwood-sized, dry-hop finish. A simple malt bill featuring Vienna malt for depth and lighter crystal varieties presents a gold hue and a pleasant mouthfeel.

On tap at The Magnet, pours a lightly hazed golden with a small white head. Aroma has dull earthy hops, concrete, and bready malt. Flavour has a lot of that concrete character, with dull earthy hops, and dry bready malt. Odd hop expression, really showcasing that concrete character (reminds me of those Hair of the Dog concrete egg aged beers). Not really into this but the structure is at least okay.
