Tap @ the brewery. Nice head with good duration. Color is close to black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, cocoa, hops and has a sweet chocolate finish.
Pours pitch black with little to no head. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa. Taste has cocoa nibs, chocolate, some caramel notes and sweet malt. Palate has sugary finish, Hershey-like milk chocolate finish. Good.

12 ounce can. Dark brown pour is barely translucent. Brief tan head dissipates into a small creamy ring. Subtle roasted malt nose hints at cocoa. Roasted malt flavor is light on the palate. There is an underlying note of milk chocolate and lactose. Some residual stickiness on the back of the tongue. Finishes with notes of whole milk and baked brown bread.

Poured into a tulip glass, dark brown with light carbonation and cocoa aroma. Medium bodied, taste starts chocolate malt with harsh chemical bitter tail end. Not awful but not competitive against top notch chocolate stouts.

Tap to finish off a flight. Deep dark brown with small head. Nose is rich chocolate mouse. Tastes amazingly like a rich chocolate truffle and not much else. And like a truffle I feel best in moderation just the 4oz will do me. Very rich.
