The second beer in our Accomplicees series. Some hops just work together, individually they are fantastic but together they accomplish so much more. In this series we explore how two hops can be combined to create balanced flavours in a beer.

On tap at Bearwood Brewing Taproom in Wokingham, Berkshire. A hazy golden/orange/yellow coloured pour with a thinnish white head on top. Hoppy, grape, gooseberry, melon, tropical fruit aroma and taste. A pleasant enough pale ale from Bearwood Brewing.

Keg at the brewery. Hazy pale gold. Foamy white head. Aroma has sweet fruit and porridge with a light bitter strick. Flavourwise there is a bitter core - gooseberry, a vinous element and herbs. This is over sweet fruit. Sour edge. The bitterness then closes things. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Well balanced.
