Sam Keane’s take on a Cleveland classic: the Great Lakes' Dortmunder Lager.
This is his spin on the classic and forgotten style. Inspired by his upbringing in Cleveland, Ohio, this is the kind of beer that’s always within reach. As Sam puts it, “Any time I’m able to get back, it’s the go-to beer, it’s everywhere you go, it’s in everyone’s refrigerators, it’s just the beer you’re going for."
Sam’s take is brewed with a blend of American and traditional European ingredients, starting with Briess Pilsen and Heritage Gold 2-Row malt as the base, with a touch of Vienna, Munich, and Bohemian Pils that give this beer a nice toasty profile. This sets the stage for classic European noble hopping, leaning into Czech Saaz, German Hersbrucker, Tettnang, and a bit of Goldings for a rounded, pleasant hop note.
This one is a special spin on a classic.

Working way through mix pack. Deep golden fairly clear and pretty white top that sits to attention. Nose is bready and hint of lemon. Tastes of toast, lemon, herbal. Crisp palate. Enjoyable
