Imperial Stout blended with Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout.
The sibling to Iron Jaw, Steel Spine has an extremely complex malt profile with over 13 different malts. Before packaging, a blend of bourbon barrel-aged stout (aged 18–30 months) is added to round things out.
Viscous and jet black with layered notes of Hershey’s syrup, Vietnamese coffee, Nutella, underbaked brownies, and melty candy bars, followed by an assertive yet balanced hop and roast presence. Surprisingly crushable for the ABV.

12 ounce at Scott’s Addition location - inky black with a moderate tan lace - nose is heavy on chocolate, coffee, and moderate bourbon barrel character - a nice blend of young and aged stout - coffee leads, followed by chocolate, whiskey, oak, toffee - overall impression is like an espresso truffle - finish is lightly a Racine but otherwise it is solid.

Black with no head. Strong booziness with toffee, chocolate, coffee, red wine and a hint of leather. Very long finish. Full bodied
