This brown ale was brewed to commemorate the Lungevity Everest Expedition. Brian Oestrike the brother of Jackie O’s owner Art, sumitted the unforgiving mountain on May 22nd, 2007. The climb was a vehicle to raise money and awareness about lung cancer. The people of Tibet call Mt. Everest “Chomolungma” this exceptional ale carries on the spirit of the climb. 8 Malts, 2 hops, and twenty pounds of wild flower honey give this ale an exceptional character. Baked muffins, dark fruit, bittersweet chocolate, rich honey and earthy subtle hops caress the palate. Booze soaked chocolate raisins round out the warm finish.

12 oz. can, thanks to Treebute. Pours black, with a small, creamy, beige head. The aroma is bittersweet chocolate, coffee, raisins, molasses and light cinnamon. Heavy, malty sweetness, with just a touch of earthy bitterness. Medium body, chalky, and thick. Overall, this is a nice, flavorful brown ale, with lots of chocolate and dark fruits.

12 ounce can into pint glass, no canning date. Pours very hazy/cloudy dark reddish brown color with a 2 finger dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, chocolate, toast, toffee, brown bread, honey, nuttiness, raisin, herbal, and toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and honey notes with light hops; and good strength. Taste of big chocolate, caramel, toffee, brown bread, brown sugar, toast, honey, nuttiness, light roast, raisin, herbal, and toasted earthiness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, toast, honey, nuttiness, raisin, light roast, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance, robustness, and complexity of dark/roasted malt and honey flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with no warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent brown ale! All around great balance, robustness, and complexity of dark/roasted malt and honey flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Can, courtesy of JStax – thanks! Deep chestnut pour with a modest tan head. Nice retention. Rich aroma of roasted malts, and a floral sweetness that must be the wildflower honey. Good flavor, a nice roasted component, nutty, and lightly sweet. It certainly doesn’t scream “honey.” I want to like this more...

12oz can thanks to Jeremy. Pours a deep brown with a off-white head. Nose is toast, honey sweetness, and a hint of dark chocolate. Taste is dark chocolate, honey, toast, pitfruit, and some nut on the end.

12oz can pours a hazy, deep brown with some thin, creamy white head. Nose is sweet, bran muffin, raisin, brown sugar, bread crust, malt, a little German chocolate cake. Flavor is similar, sweet, malty, cracker, biscuit, brown sugar, some honey, a flick of spice, some raisin. Finishes dry with a nice breadiness. Solid.

Can thanks to Josh! Pours a clear deep amber brown with a gray head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma has earthy grains and bread with a hint of underlying honey and nuttiness. Flavor has musty bread and grain with a good amount of nuttiness and a hint of sweet honey.

12oz can. Thick unfiltered brown body, hints of orange-red. Respectable enough off-white/beige head. A really nice Brown Ale really well executed, very clean and sessionable for the ABV. The sweetness catches up to you by mid-bottle, but this is still a really enjoyable, well done beer.

Pleasant initial impressions from this can of beer. Smooth malty aroma. Now, on the tongue there is a surprize, enough stout to call it impy or foreign stout. Ches, strong bitter alky feeling stout. This lager lover was expecting a smoooth brown ale, but forgetabouddit. What else can be said? Its near 7% and it tastes like. Not impressed at the end, too much for my girlie taste buds. There, you have it; a smooth looking dark brown ale that has a smack in the chops.

Can. Pour is a nice deep brown with a fairly large tan head that is about half way between suds and foam. Aromas are lightly hoppy with a little fruit and a bit of brown sugar. Flavor is interesting, kind of chocolate and orange.
