Sampled from a 16 oz can this beer poured a black color with an enormous foamy brown head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was gritty floral and fruity hops with a bit of black food coloring. The flavor was bitter and roasty with black food coloring, floral hops and fruity hops. Long finish. Medium body. Ok.

Aluminum Bottle: Pours black, with a small beige head. Chocolate an orange aroma. Taste is dark chocolate malt, roasty coffee, singed caramel malt. Ash and grapefruit- peel bitter.... Grows a slight bit boozy towards the finish... Very good.

Draft. Almost black, thick tan head with good retention. Aroma of pine boughs lightly dipped in chocolate. Taste is bitter pine. Would like to see more of a roasty malt character, but it’s still pretty tasty.

On tap at Pies and Pints. Pours translucent black with large dark brown highlights with medium dark beige head. Hop aroma, medium carbonation, medium body, and little lacing. Taste is complex roasty and some pine resin. One of the best black IPA’s I have had.
