This Burley interpretation of a 16th century German style Berliner-Weisse has undergone an initial pre-boil fermentation with lactobacillus bacteria to give it it’s signature dry, puckering and refreshing character. 55% of the grain build comes from wheat harvested in Snow Hill, MD, which gives this beer a full mouth finish.

Bottle during RBWG, pours a cloudy orange gold with small white head. The aroma is prickly pear and oak. Medium mouth with strong oak, light lacto, light dryness. Good.

On draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Flavors of lemon, straw, citrus rind and a hint of salt.

Tap at Maxs. A touch of an off funked out aroma. The aroma lacks a little, garbage tones, though the flavor is right on. I kind of like the sour tones, but the overall beer is amateur. Doesn’t cut it for the price I suppose. Valiant effort.
