Our strong American Stout aged for two months in Catoctin Creek Roundstone Rye whiskey barrels which mellows out the strong flavors of the stout and picks up the warmth of the whiskey and vanilla character from the American oak.

Draft at the source courtesy of Elwood, thanks! Aroma has vanilla and lots of rye. Taste has rye, vanilla, cocoa, licorice. Tasty.

Draft at the garage brewery thanks to Elwood! Poured a dark, black-brown color with some ruby edges on it. Aroma was barrel, vanilla character. Base beer is there, but buried under barrel. Pretty smooth, a little heat on it. Some light roasted notes, chocolate.
