This dark, Bavarian lager is a classic German style that should be more popular here in America. Munich Dunkel combines the deep complex flavor of a well crafted dark brew with the clean finish that many of us equate with a great lager. Nutty, bready malt is the predominate flavor in this deep-rooted cooper brew with just a hint of spicy yeast character underneath.

Draft at the source. Cloudy light amber color. Aroma of light caramel. Taste is caramel bubblegum. OK.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a dark copper color with a small off-white head. Aroma was light notes, touch of grain and yeast. Sweetness. Flavor was caramel, light earthy notes, sweet notes. Good! Nice.
