On tap at Migration, pours a cloudy dark red with a small beige head. Nose of toasted nuts and earthy notes. Flavour is quite dry, with toasted nuts, earthy notes and set bready malt. Not a typical strong ale, but it's well-balanced and structured. Good stuff.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark mahogany color with a medium white head. A sweet nose of dusty caramel, some fruitcake. The flavor is cherries, dust, toasted malts, yeast, caramel, light heat. A bit of energetic fruity hops. Good beer.

Draft at the source. Cloudy amber brown color, tan head, solid lacing. Aroma of toasted caramel, light butterscotch. Taste is rich butterscotch and cicoa, almost Butterfinger-like.

Sample from firkin at the 6th Annual Rogue Firkin Fest at Green Dragon. This beer is a dark reddish-amber color with a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark malt, fruit and chocolate. Medium-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, ripe fruit and hops. The finish is semi-sweet fruit with a short malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draught. Deep red with medium white head. Fruity aroma, with some spice. Sort of sweet flavour cherry edge. Hop in the finish.
