22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of bourbon, followed by chillis and a little cinnamon. Flavour brings out shitloads of bourbon upfront, followed by caramel, some residual sugars, and only a small hint of chilli spice. The bourbon has taken this over, drowning out the spiciness. There is some notes of chocolate and vanilla in there too. Great stuff.

Tap at Breakside, Dekum, PDX 25/05/13. Very lightly hazed dark amber with a thin white off white head. Nose carries a big bourbon kick, caramelised sugars, marshmallow, toffee, light wood notes. Taste comprises sugars, booze, dark toffee, bourbon infused wood, light chocolate, dark fruit. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet in the finish. The booze is fairly well integrated for a 12% beer making this approachable.

Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of rotting fruits, malt, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of chili, combined with notes of bourbon, alcohol, and caramel, leading to a burning chili finish. Too much.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a cloudy opaque deep amber with a small, off-white head. Heavy Bourbon aroma paired with chilies and caramel. Medium body only, sweet caramel only, subtle roast, lovely Bourbon notes and then a shitload of chili bite. A very, very strange mix. Not great, but not completely awful either. Doesn’t really feel 12% though. 210113
