Our beloved Pilsner, now available in 12 oz cans for the first time!
When we opened our production brewery in 2013, we made a commitment to making a year-round German-style pilsner.
Why? Despite the fact that these beers are time-consuming and technically challenging, we make this style of beer because we love Pilsner.
We import Pilsner malt from Germany and manually add 3,000 pounds to each batch one bag at a time because we believe that to make a great German pilsner, you need great German malt. We source hops from the Hallertau, the famed hop-growing region, which we prize for their mix of floral, herbal, and grassy notes.
And then we wait. This beer is unfiltered, so we rely on natural lagering — long times and cold temperatures — to get this beer bright as sunshine.
Hops: Mittelfruh, Hersbrucker, Mt. Hood
Malt: Pilsner

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Nose brings out grassy hops, grains, and biscuity malt. Flavour is similar, with really nice grassy hops, biscuity malt and grains. Very grassy, fairly hoppy and dry, with very high drinkability. Great stuff.

Bomber. Pours a super clear golden color with a medium white head. A sweet nose of pils malt and some sulfur. Sweet, some biscuit, light pepper, mellow pilsner malt. Pretty clean and tasty. Listed as liquid sunshine Pilsner. Celebrated the Pirate’s first Playoff win since 92. BUCN! Amazing.

Draught. Rather too bland. Faint aroma, somewhat grassy. Body seemed thin, not bitter enough, not forceful enough. Finish was very good, long and nicely hoppy.
