This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light messy lacing sticking to the glass.
The smell started off with rich sweet milk chocolate and a lingering bitter dark chocolate to balance. Light dark fruits mesh in and around the chocolate flavors.
The taste was moderately sweet combining the chocolate with the dark fruits nicely. A light lingering sweet fruity to chocolate aftertaste leads into a sticky sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed pretty subdued yet still good and lead to a semi-smooth almost creamy feel.
Overall, tastes and smells great on a cool Summer’s evening, not a crushable beer but looking at it for what it is and wants to be it works. I’d have again.

12oz bottle from Wegman’s, Buffalo, NY. Chestnut brown with a thin beige head; spicy malt aroma; some purple fruit from the roasted malts, and some powdered chocolate as well; and then a dry, nutty, finish. Not really a recognisable English style, but rather pleasant.

Multiple samples @ Empire Brew Fest. Garnet color with huge head and decent foamy retention. Nose of caramel, toffee and light chocolate notes. Flavor is toasted grain, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, light dark fruit, mild hop bitterness on the finish with only a hint of alcohol. Full body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long bitter finish. Very nice brew.
