Tap - hazy, dark gold beer - a little bit of soapy lace - aroma of banana/strong phenols, wheat, honey, apple - medium body, fairly smooth in the mouth - fairly sweet, with a lot of phenolic character that almost takes over the beer - thankfully, more depth develops to make it less noticeable - there is some wheaty tang, honey sweetness, bready character, cloves - it dries out a bit late, and some grassy hops come out, but remain understated - decent - certainly much better than it’s rating suggests.

This beer came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma was sweet, sugary a bit yeasty and had a ripe fruit element. The flavor was sweet, tangy, yeasty and moderately fruity. Fairly full bodied. Nice.

Hazy amber color with a small frothy white head. Aroma of floral hops and sweet malt. Sweet grassy hop flavor some light malt in the background, but overall a little thin. --- Beer merged from original tick of Monkshine Organic Belgian Style Blonde Ale on 13 Jun 2020 at 17:25 - Score: 6. Bright amber-copper colour. Caramelly, metallic, slightly earthy aroma with a hint of pear. The flavour is moderate in intensity, balanced between fruity (pear, peach), phenolic (slight bubblegum) and light background earthy maltiness. Carbonation is fairly brisk. The finish dies out into a metallic dryness. Though the appearance and aroma have me thinking a De Koninck clone, it didn’t turn out that way at all. The esters don’t always mesh cohesively with the earthier, more metallic notes, but they do lend a lively complexity.
