A heft, full-bodied lager reminiscent of Marzen beers from days gone by. However, this beer is aged in our oak foudres to add a complexity unmatched by the imported version of Oktoberfest beers today. Just add Ledersosen!

Bottle. Sweet caramel malt and apple aroma. Clear copper with a large ivory head. Fruity caramel malt flavor with a light hop finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Typical marzen. Heavy on the malts and slightly sweet. The oak aging does give it just a hint of something special, but not enough to make it awesome. Overall, it’s just ok.

Bottle. Light honey and barley malt aroma. Amber with large off-white head. Sweet corn-syrup, toffee malt and mildly bitter herbal hops flavor. Okay - on the sweet and hoppy side.

Tap @ Happy Gnome. Pours a bit hazy, dark orange appearance with an off white head. Fairly tame caramel, slightly spicy, a touch woody aroma. Mild toffee, caramel, a bit chewy, nutmeg flavor. Nothing all that special but decent to drink.

On tap at Barcade, Brooklyn, New York, NY. A dark amber coloured coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Sweet, malty aroma. Tastes malty, sweet, fruity and some caramel. Not so well balanced but quite drinkable anyway.

On draught at Vintage Estate. Hazy dark amber pour with a medium thin white head that diminishes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet malt and fruit. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, sweet fruit and faint grassy hops in the background. The finish is sweet with a malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at Revolution. Orange-brown color. Thin, steady head. Malty and rich. Very well done, manages to "imperialize" the style with getting sloppy or going overboard. Smooth caramel and doughy malt tones. Minimal to no hop tones. A great beer.
