Despite being brewed with ale yeast, Kölsch is fermented cold to achieve a relatively clean profile, making it much more akin to a lager in both appearance and flavor. Brewed with traditional malt and hops, our Kölsch is a pale golden ale with a balanced hop profile. The nose has light earthy herbal notes, with subtle berry and pear, mild citrus and a waft of crusty bread. The taste starts slightly sweet with green apple, and ripe pear notes, quickly balanced by a sharp woody hop flavor. Following the flavor, the mouthfeel is soft upfront and then sharp on the finish making for a refreshing drinking experience.
